Image to PDF Converter for JPG and PNG Files

Turning a folder of photos into one document usually means opening a desktop app and clicking through a wizard. This page does the work in the browser instead: pick the files, order the list, set the paper size, and press Create PDF. Each picture becomes its own page, and the finished file arrives as a download link. Your images are read and encoded locally, so nothing is sent anywhere.

How It Works

Every file you pick is read with the browser's own image decoder. PNG and JPEG bytes pass through untouched, because the PDF library embeds those two formats directly. WebP, GIF, BMP, and anything else the browser can open is drawn onto a canvas and re-encoded as PNG bytes before it reaches the library.

Page boxes come from the options above. Fit to image sizes each page to its picture plus margin, so the artwork is never scaled. A4 and Letter use fixed boxes measured in points; auto orientation turns a page sideways when its picture is wider than it is tall. Fit inside page keeps the aspect ratio and centers the drawing, while Fill page covers the whole printable area and can distort the picture.

One image produces one page, written in list order. The result is a standard PDF file that opens in any reader, handed back through an object URL that lives only in this tab until you save it.

Before and After

Before (file list)
receipts.jpg 3024x4032px

Download PDF 1.4 MB
All three embedded, one page each.

photo centered, aspect kept
second page: portrait A4 for scan.png

Use Cases

Scenario Settings that fit Result
Emailing trip photos Fit to image, zero margin One attachable file per set
Expense receipts A4 portrait, 5 mm margin Pages ready for a printer
Screenshot handoff Letter, fit inside page No stretched or cut edges
WebP files for a PDF-only client Leave defaults Converted to PNG, then embedded

Common Mistakes

  • Choosing Fill page for tall screenshots. The picture is stretched to the paper shape and text in the capture ends up wide and short.
  • Leaving the margin at 0 for a print job. Many printers cannot reach the paper edge, so a few millimetres save the borders.
  • Reordering after the PDF exists. The order is read at conversion time, so move entries first and build second.
  • Expecting an animated GIF to keep moving. Only its first frame is drawn, so keep the original file when the motion matters.

Best Practices

  • Read the pixel sizes in the list first; they tell you how each page will be sized before you press the button.
  • Use Fit inside page for mixed photos and reserve Fill page for pictures that already match the paper shape.
  • Set a margin between 5 and 10 mm when the document will be printed or stapled rather than only viewed on a screen.
  • Leave WebP and GIF files as they are. The page converts them to PNG on the way in, and the original file name stays in the list.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which image formats can this page read?

PNG and JPEG files are embedded as they are. WebP, GIF, BMP, and other formats the browser can open are decoded, drawn onto a canvas, and saved as PNG bytes before embedding, so the PDF library always receives one of its two supported types.

How do multiple images become multiple pages?

Each entry in the list becomes one page, in the order the list shows. The arrows move an entry up or down, and the remove button drops it. Press Create PDF after the list looks right; page order cannot change afterwards without building again.

What is the difference between Fit to image, A4, and Letter?

Fit to image sizes each page to its own picture plus any margin, so nothing is scaled. A4 and Letter use fixed page boxes in points, and the picture is scaled to the fit mode you picked. Pick the paper size the printer or recipient expects.

When does auto orientation choose landscape?

On A4 and Letter, auto turns a page sideways when its picture is wider than it is tall, and keeps portrait otherwise. With Fit to image the orientation setting does nothing, because the page box follows the picture itself.

Do my pictures get sent to a server?

No. The browser decodes each file, the canvas re-encodes the formats that need it, and the PDF is assembled by local code in this tab. The download link points at a temporary object URL that exists only in your browser session.

Why did an image end up skipped?

A file is skipped when the browser cannot decode its bytes or when the data reads as empty. The issues line names each skipped file, and the remaining images still produce pages. Re-export the file from an editor if it keeps failing.

Will animated GIFs keep playing in the PDF?

No. A PDF page is a still image, so only the first frame of a GIF is drawn. Convert the animation to a video or keep the original GIF file alongside the PDF when the movement matters.
